Early life and Career:

Adah Sharma was born on 11 May 1992 in Mumbai to brahmin parents. Her father, Late Mr S.L. Sharma served the Indian merchant navy as a captain while her mother is a classical dancer. Adah pursued her school education at Auxilium Convent High school, Mumbai. She made up her mind to venture into the acting field when she was studying in Class X. She was so keen on pursuing acting that she wanted to drop out of school straight after passing Class X, but her parents insisted she complete her school education first. Finally, after passing her high school intermediate, she discontinued her studies. Since her school days, Adah has been practising Gymnastics. She has been receiving professional training in the Kathak dance form since the tender age of three and is a graduate of the Kathak dance form from the Natraj Gopi Krishna Kathak dance academy located in Mumbai.

Adah began with her share of struggles, trying to enter the film industry. She had curly hair, which acted as a major hindrance in her career. She was often rejected during auditions due to either curly hair or due to her appearance which seemed too young for an actress. Fortunately, in 2009, she was signed for the Bollywood horror-thriller “1920”, opposite Rajneesh Duggal. Her performance was labelled excellent and outstanding by the critics and even earned her a nomination for the Best female debut at the 54th Filmfare awards.

Adah’s latest releases are known to be Commando 2, the sequel to the 2013 action thriller film Commando, opposite Vidyut Jamwal, and the MX player web series Pati Patni Aur Panga, where she has essayed the role of a transgender woman.
