Early life and Career:

Ileana is affectionately called Illu in her family. Ileana’s father, Ronaldo D’Cruz, is a mechanical draftsman, whereas her mother, Samira, is a designer. At the age of 10, Ileana and her family relocated to Parra, Goa, from Mumbai. Ileana attained her school education at St. Xavier’s Higher secondary school and college, Mapusa, Goa, and pursued her college studies at the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. She created her first modelling portfolio in January 2003, which she labels as a ‘disaster’ now. She started coming into the limelight by appearing in numerous photoshoots and ramp walks, which helped draft her second portfolio. Her second portfolio fetched her three advertisements from Electrolux, Emami talcum powder, and the famous cosmetics brand Fair and Lovely.

Ileana bagged her debut role in Bollywood with the Anurag Basu-directed romantic drama “Barfi,” which emerged as a box-office success, earning nearly ₹1.75 billion worldwide. Her next Bollywood project happened to be Phata Poster Nikla Hero, where she shared the screen space with Shahid Kapoor. Although the film was declared as an under-performer at the box office, D’Cruz received a package of mixed reviews from the critics, where some appreciated her. With her performance in this film, Ileana left an indelible impression on the audience, which also went down well with the critics.

Ileana’s latest appearances have been in the superhit Bollywood film Raid (2018), the Telugu film Amar Akbar Anthony (2018), and Pagalpanti, a Hindi-language comedy-drama.
