Early life and Career
Her acting career started in Tollywood when she bagged her debut film Gnaapakam (2007). But, unfortunately, Gnaapakam was an under-performing film at the box office. Subsequently, she also signed one Tamil and two Telugu movies, Housefull and Antaraatma, respectively.
Apart from acting, Vishakha has also been engrossed in social works. She, accompanying the rights activist Gopi Shankar Madurai, fought fervently to bring justice to athlete Santhi Soundarajan and lodged multiple complaints in the National Commission for Scheduled castes and the National Human Rights Commission of India.
Vishakha has also gained accolades by working as a part-time venture capitalist in the company owned by her father. She is also frequently spotted at the Cannes film festival. In addition, she is among the several jury members at the Rome independent film festival.
After earning a name in film production, she launched her own production house, Lokaa entertainment, based in Mumbai. Lokaa has been instrumental in producing the 2016 award-winning movie Onataah, which Pradip Kurbah directed. Furthermore, it has produced the 2020 musical film for children named Atkan Chatkan, which contains Amitabh Bachchan in a brief cameo role. Atkan Chatkan has garnered a lot of praises and honours post-release.
